If any person orally makes a threat to any employee of an elementary, middle, or secondary school, while on a school bus, on school property or at a school-sponsored activity, to kill or do bodily injury to such person, he shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Conveying by gestures, notes, or verbal comments, the intent to cause bodily injury or to deprive a student of his rights is considered a threat.Intentionally hitting, shoving, scratching, biting, kicking, blocking the passage of, or throwing objects at a student is considered physical abuse.Actions, comments, or written messages intended to cause others to fight or which may result in a fight are considered incitement or instigation.Voluntary fighting resulting in physical injury to another person shall be considered assault and battery. A student shall not assault or commit battery upon another person.
